Associated takes on Costa Rica... Raising money for Heart UK

Some people call them dedicated, some people call them crazy but Ian, Nick and Stuart from Associated Optical love a challenge and when Stuart - Sales Director at Associated Optical saw a charity bike ride being advertised by HEARTUK, he just knew it was the opportunity of a lifetime.

Stuart put the idea to Ian & Nick (Area Sales Managers at Associated Optical) that they should all sign up for the ride and now 6 months on, training has begun!

The bike ride will see Stuart, Nick & Ian ride across Costa Rica later this year (23rd November - 2nd December). Together, they will spend that time riding 360km on behalf of HEARTUK.

HEARTUK is a charity that means a lot to Nick in particular. Sadly in 2015, Nick lost a friend called Drew to a heart attack - just weeks after his 23rd birthday.
HEARTUK were there to offer support and advice to Drew's family and friends and are such a support resource for many people that the team at Associated felt that they wanted to give something back to HEARTUK.

'I am very goal orientated and Costa Rica ticks a lot of boxes with me. It's got some incredible scenery and i'm looking forward to being able to see Costa Rica from a different point of view. As a team, we all get on so incredibly well and I thought it would be a great end of year reward for the hard work Nick & Ian put into looking after our customers. It's an honour to be riding on behalf of HEARTUK & it's our small way of helping a charity that does some wonderful work'.
